Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and sometimes you just feel like giving up the whole performing out live thing. Did we have a great weekend recently? Playing out - definitely. Show of people absolutely sucked!!! I understand the economy is bad but it really makes a band wonder why they should keep doing this when no one shows up ALL WEEKEND. I know we don't suck. I also know we're not the best band in RI and that we're not famous or anything but live music is what makes the world go round. Music in general makes life more fun. I honestly don't know why I keep the band going sometimes. Thanks for letting me vent

LOU'S CAFE
What can I say....Lou's is one of our utmost favorite places to play. The staff, the patrons, the atmosphere is truly amazing. We always have a blast there and tonight was no exception. We'll be back in April so if you've never experienced Lou's it's a must!!! They're located on the Manville/Cumberland line at
47 Summer Street, Manville, RI
Later friends and hope to see you soon.
Next Gig....Knuckleheads in New Bedford.
Another really cool venue!

What a fun amazing experience. Love the big stage! We were able to get a few photo's for viewing. Checkout the photo page.
SHOWCASE LIVE - Beyond Blonde commends your staff with the utmost praise. The treatment we received, the dressing room, the food and beverages....all of it. Truely amazing....and the sound system you guys have absolutely rocks!!! Jeff Knight, the Production Manager was amazing and we thank all his crew and the great job the soundman did for us. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the live recording came out great and that we will be able to share it with you along with video footage. The plan is to have us back this year. Possibly with an amazing group called Ropetree. We did a show with them at Tammany Hall in MA last year and you will LOVE THEM. Will keep you posted on that show. A very special thanks to Sky Weir of Skyworks Productions for putting this all together for us. She's an amazing woman and knows how to do her job well! Thanks Sky and we look forward to working with you again real soon! Love to you all - Lisa

Hey Beyond Blonde fans....my hope for this year is to update the Road Tales as much as possible. We're hoping for an exciting year with festivals and more concert events. We'll be opening for the Spinners at the Heritage Festival in E. Providence in July and in February we'll be at Showcase Live in Foxboro, MA with Tramps Like Us (Springsteen Tribute Band). This venue is an awesome venue and our hope is to get a great live recording from the show that we can press and put out for our fans. It's been rumored that we'll be performing at the DUNKIN DONUT CENTER in November as part of the Rockin' for Hunger Fund Raiser concert series. We will DEFINITELY keep you posted on that one!
So far this year we've had 2 gigs that were both great fun. Knuckleheads in New Bedford, MA is a "must check out" club! The Backstreet in Warwick....another "must check out" club. The Basktreet is known for it's regular patrons, great food and friendly staff and they treat all newcomers as family so you always feel comfortable and you always have a great time. Knuckleheads has great patrons that love to have a good time and appreciate music!!!
Stay tuned and I will be back with more news as it comes in.
THE END OF 2009
As the year comes to an end, I reflect on all the years past. What an incredible journey. So many times I've wanted to just call it quits with all the changes and hardships this band has endured but you all kept saying "no - don't". That's inspiration right there. As of 12/09 the band consists of myself, Suekey, Mick on Drums and Kaz on bass (who played the Joan Jett show with us). It's rock solid. We've also been writing a few new tunes, adding new covers and pluggin' along. The hope is to put together a CD sometime in 2010. The economy has been very hard on all musicians and affects the way people go out when they can afford it. We totally appreciate it when you do go out and choose to see Beyond Blonde. Have a great holiday and an even better start to the 2010 year! Rock on and thanks for all your continued support.
March 31,2008
It's the end of March and soooo much has happened since December 2006. Yes, 2006. Can't believe it myself. The the last time I made a ROAD TRIP entry. Life for BB has been a struggle with divorces, surgeries and illnesses and the dreadful "auditioning new members. Why new members? Well, if you know BB you know that we started out as three rockin' chicks that did pretty well for a year, then added Suekey (lead guitar and vocals) then Joyce left and we auditioned and went through 4 bass players in 2 years. It was very painful. We're fortunate to have Vinny with us now. He adds a lot to the band in many ways. During the past year and a half I really thought BB was gonna fizzle out. Donna was diagnosed with Cancer almost a year ago and finding a drummer to "try" and fill her shoes was not an easy task. Donna is greatly missed and having her sit in at one of RI Rocks' gigs the other day was most definitely a treat. We are glad to have Mick in the band as our drummer. Will Donna be back? Hard to say and only time will tell BB's fate. We pray for Donna every day and I like to keep the band going for her, for us, for you. Many people have followed us from day one. Since 2002 to be exact and know our "story". Every band has to have a story and we most definitely do. Gigs are in abundance so please come out and check out the 2008 BB line-up.
Till then have a musical day / night. Lisa
December 9 & 10
CADY'S TAVERN (Chepachet) & EVERY BUDDY'S (Cumberland)
What a f'd up weekend but we all had a great laugh. What else can you do when shit happens? Doing gigs in the winter is tough enough without things happening that put a damper on the already cold weekend LOL. Donna and I are on our way to Chepachet heading to Cady's Tavern when the van starts smoking. I'm not talking smoke out of the tail pipe cause it's cold, I'm talkin' I thought we were on fire smoke!!! Pulled over and the van just died. Great!!! 45 min. or more away from the gig. We had to cancel at Cady's before due to van problems. No way Brian's gonna believe me this time. Donna's brother, David, saves our asses by flying up 95 from Somerset with his bike trailer and huge ass diesel truck. We load the gear from one vehicle to another and leave Miss Kitty on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck. Head to the gig, set up and have an awesome time (ofcourse). On top of that, I get a wicked cold and knew that singing two nights in a row was gonna be killer. And it was. Sat. puts us in a new club in Cumberland, Every Buddy's. I have no voice and thinkin' NO WAY. But with the help of 4-5 shots of JD, tea, and some herbal spray, I made it through and the band rocked. All in all it was a crazy but great weekend and we thank David Compos again for coming to the rescue and to our other friend Dave for sitting in on harmonica, guitar and vocals to do quite a few songs to give me a break. Till next time Lisa
October 27 & 28 - Biker Bar Weekend
BLUE LANTERN/CADY'S TAVERN
Two of Beyond Blonde's favorite watering holes. Both places full of unique characters that always and I mean ALWAYS make us feel like family. It was an energetic weekend. I must say I was on fire. Not sure where all my energy is coming from cause my personal life sucks right now LOL The whole band was on fire. Explosive leads from Suekey, Donna standing up behind the drums with that "forever grin" on her face, Chuck slappin' away on the bass and me gyrating my hips all over the place as usual. In any event, the weekend was a blast. Thanks to all my cyber friends from MySpace that came to check out the band. Welcome to the Rock and Roll world of Beyond Blonde. Later...Lisa
October 14th
SEAFOOD FESTIVAL/RUSTY'S
The day started out in beautiful downtown Newport at Bowen's Wharf at the Seafood Festival. It was Beyond Blonde's 4th time at this event playing as a trio. Next year we'll be bringin' the full drum kit and the bass player...hopefully we'll have the same bassist when this event rolls around again LOL. It was an awesome day. Doug Verry (our unofficial photographer) took some great shots so be sure to check em out at the PHOTO page. We moved on to Rusty's in Middletown later that night for a fn rockin' good time. Rusty's was jam packed with incredibly energetic wild and crazy fans. It was like being at a rock concert for sure. Gee...wonder who was playing? So glad to have you all out with us doin' some partying, hangin' and rockin' and rollin'. Later - Lisa
October 7th
RED ROCK BAR & GRILL
WOW!!! What a blast. I had a blast anyway. Pretty sure everyone else did too. Thanks to all our "regulars" that came out to support us at the Red Rock and hello to all our new friends. We'll be back for sure and hope to see you there. Special thanks to Bob, the soundguy, for hookin' us up! Peace out everyone.
September 29th
CHARACTERS, Gardner, MA
The place was smokin'! Ladies...not many girls go to this bar so if you're looking for a new guy, Characters is the place to be. It's wall to wall guys LOL. Dave (harmonica Dave from Gloucester, RI) joined us again on stage then helped us with our gear! What a guy. He rocks musically and he'll be with us next Sat. @ the Red Rock blowin' out a few tunes I'm sure. We'll definitely be back - next year in the new place. We'll keep you posted. Lisa

A Biker Bar Weekend
BLUE LANTERN, Acushnet, MA
CADY'S TAVERN, Chepachet, RI
We introduced our newest member to all who know us at the Blue Lantern and Cady's. I think y'all liked Chuck Yes? No complaints.
He's a big dude!! Once again lead vocalist, Ken Roy of NO WAY OUT showed up to the gig...hmmmm? I think he's trying to pick up some of my sexy stage moves LOL. AAAANNNYYYWAAAYY, Saturday night I lost my voice. Managed to get through the first 2 sets then Suekey stepped up to the plate and pulled some rockin' blues tunes out of his ass and we all jammed and had a great time. Harmonica Dave got up and did a kickin' tune "Mind Your Own Business" at Cady's. You, the fans, rocked and we appreciate the support as always. All in all, an awesome weekend. Later - Lisa
August 25, 2006
RUSTY'S, Middletown, RI
While we've done some gigs in between, Rusty's just kicks ass! Thanks to everyone that comes and supports us there. You make us feel like rock stars with all the screamin', whistling, and buying us beers!! It was fun but sad. Stephen, our current bass player, leaves for CA in September. It was his last gig with us. We've got Chuck Pagano hangin' with us now...can he keep up with the Beyond Blonde standards of playin'? You be the judge. He'll be with us at our September show so come check him out!! Later

August 20, 2006
NEWPORT BLUES CAFE, Newport, RI
WOW!!! What a show by Danny Klein and his band. All G. Geils material that simply rocked!! DK was happening for sure and the Blues Cafe is the perfect place to see these guys in action. PH Productions put on the event and of course we were honored when they asked to start the night off. The talk is another show in October so stay tuned. Peace out - Lisa
July 22, 2006
RUSTY'S, Middletown, RI
It was a rockin' good time to say the least. Lead vocalist, Ken Roy, of Enuff Said, now fronting NO WAY OUT stopped by - got to get him up on stage sometime...He's Blonde even
and did I mention cute. In any event we'll be back at Rusty's in August so if you missed the show last night, get your butts down there in August. Till later...Lisa
June 5, 2006
It has been a loooooonnnnggg time since there's been anything written on this page. Sheesh. What can I say? Life's been a roller coaster for Beyond Blonde. We're giggin' again. Not as much, but giggin'. Definitely writing. Hard times will do that to you. I think the newer material is more radio friendly. Still has that classic rock twist of course and the blues aspect with vocals and chord changes, but there's just something different about it. It's got edge but it's more subtle I think. I like it. So do the teenagers. Not a bad market to be hitting. We found someone that's helping us a bit with the financial side of things. Says he'll put us in front of a label or two. Has connections. Can't get too excited in this business when they "say" stuff. Show me the $$$$$. Show me the label. Got the new material recorded. Not to our liking but that's a HUGE story for another time. To make things short and sweet...Beyond Blonde is feelin' good. Looking good. Sounding good and having a good time. There you have it. All is good! Hope you can check out a show soon.
Peace out!
Lisa
Big thanks to David Compos...
10/14 - 16 was a fun weekend. Friday we rocked out at the Blue Lantern in Acushnet, Ma where we always feel like we're doing a big huge rock concert. The appreciation for original music is very evident by the reaction of the crowd and it's an awesome bar. Check it out. Saturday morning we all leave for White River Jnct. VT. BIG THANKS TO David Compos (Donna's brother) who hooked us up big time with his camper and a big trailer for all the gear. I got to sleep on the way to a gig instead of driving for a change. Donna and I hung in the back of the camper while the boyz sat up front in the big diesel truck. David had enough food for an army and booze to boot...which Suekey and Steve had plenty of. We won't get into that LOL. The boyz slept under the stars in the big trailer and froze their asses off because they couldn't figure out how to keep the door closed so they decided to run around the camp ground like fools instead. The rain was still comin' down come Sunday so we all sat in the camper and had a gourmet breakfast, cooked by David. Drove back to RI, hit tons of traffic and barely got to our gig on time down at Bowen's Wharf Seafood fest for a 2 hour acoustic show. Myself, Donna and Suekey weathered the 50 mile an hour winds but Suekey's guitar case went flying off the stage and into the audience. We mananged to stay planted on the stage and had a blast. That's our weekend in a nutshell. Catch up with ya later. Lisa
Been Awhile....k
Busy, busy, busy...been too long since we said hello to y'all and gave ya some road tales. Did a private party at a kickin' "estate" in August. Small, intimate crowd but a great time; great people. Okies in Narragansett was a blast as usual and our farthest gig adventure for a while to Gardner, MA was awesome! We've been asked to do a radio interview next time we play up there so if you're from the Lowell area, Leominster, Gardner, Tewksbury, and surrounding areas, tune in to Strongarm Radio 104.9FM WRBB
www.wrbbradio.org. Characters in Gardner, MA is a great place to hang, shoot darts, play pool and hang at the bar with DJ Laura. Very captivating audience. Our gig with Mill City Rockers wasn't too rockin' but what a gorgeous day. MDA had a great turn out for the event but due to the lack of beer, the riders decided to hit the Hen House early for the "biker appreciation" party instead. Mill City Rockers rocked. The soundguy, Scott, rocked and we did too...just to a very, very small crowd. But hey, it was for a great cause and BB is definitely about a great cause. Hope you all have had a great summer and that you don't stay cooped up in the house all winter. Come on out and stay warm with Beyond Blonde cause we can definitely make ya hot! See ya...Lisa
A giggin' kinda weekend (End Zone, March of Dimes Event, Portguese Feast) 8/6 & 7/2005
Hello BB fans! What a weekend we had! Didn't think I could sweat so much, and I mean SWEAT! Saturday night we rocked at the End Zone in Foxboro to a slim, but enthusiastic crowd. Cold Play was our competition down at the Tweeta Centa. We play there again in October, so come out and boogie! Sunday, we had two gigs. The West Greenwich benefit for the March of Dimes, with 94HJY. Of course Lisa got her picture taken on a "Hog" that is to be raffled off to some lucky person! I'm sure that picture will be downloaded by a few fans, so keep checking the site for that!! Unfortunately, we couldn't stay long after that gig--we had to hightail it to New Bedford for the Madeira Feast! What a feast it is!! A sea of humanity as far as you could see! We had a great stage set up overlooking the park! What a rush to see all those people dancing and singing along with us! Down in front were our loyal and fun loving fans from Acushnet! Great to see them, always! If you missed us, never fear, we were invited back next year!! Love, Donna
Blue Lantern, Acushnet, MA August 5, 2005 Part II
Hello BB fans!! Donna here to tell those of you that cannot make our Blue Lantern gig in Accusnet are missing out on so much fun!! We have had two shows there with in a months time,, the one in July was packed with dancing, watching, having a hellava time fans! What energy! We ended the night with a sexy song of Lisa's called Wind Me Up--all about sex, of course, and Lisa sang it as such, of course. She doesn't play guitar on this number,, she gets out on the dance floor instead--and what a show she does there!! My god!! I have to concentrate on what I'm doing and not screw up cuz I'm watching her with everyone else! Anyway, towards the end of the number, the dance crowd who are just loving the show start to surround her and she loses her footing and starts to fall. Well of course every guy on the dance floor wants to help,, so they all go to prevent her from falling and end up ALL on the floor with Lisa in the middle of the pile STILL SINGING!! Yes folks,, she didn't miss a beat or note flat on her back with one leg up in the air laughing!! What an end to a great night!! A big Hankyu to the gracious owner, Don, who gave Lisa and I cool Blue Lantern pink tank shirts. I wore mine Last night at 2nd gig there. We got a late start due to Mother Nature blasting a few telephone poles in the area with lightening! Even though we went on alittle later, fun was had by all and Lisa stayed on her feet!! Hope to see everyone at the Portuguese Feast on Sunday,
early evening!! Take care, Love Donna
Blue Lantern, Acushnet, MA July 22, 2005
We had a great time at the Blue Lantern last week. It started off a little slow, but it didn't take long before the room filled up with lots of people ready to party. They really like to rock there, and don't mind some real rock& roll volume, my kind of place. Reasonable prices on drinks too! Everyone was dancing and having a great time. We had a smoking guest harp player on our version of Long Train by The Doobie Brothers. This guy came up out of the blue, just in time for the harp solo, and completely nailed it. Then he disappeared back into the crowd, before we knew what hit us. Awesome job! Another one of our fans Dave, had this cow pen, that's right a cow pen, that made some pretty cool cow sounds. Well, more like a bull really, but still cool, in my opinion that is. When we couldn't get it to work thru the microphone, Dave personally gave us his own cow / bull impression. Great impression Dave, much better than the pen, but I wouldn't quit my day job just yet if I were you. I will promise to let you do it into the microphone again next week when we go back. I'll be looking forward to it! We are back there Friday, August 5th. 8PM -11:30. Anybody wants to let your hair down and party, and still get to bed early, this is the place for you.................................Suekey
Rusty's - Middletown, RI July 16, 2005
What a fun night!!!! The bar was full of great people that come to see us regularly when we're rockin' Rusty's. Some people I hadn't seen in quite a while. SOOOO, a big hello to Greg Sherrard and Artie Dennis. Greg got up and sang Jenny Jenny with us which was quite a treat. I highly recommend you take some time to check out Greg's band sometime. In addition to seeing some old friends, Suekey and my friend Scott McHenry were celebrating birthdays. So I brought in some yummy cup cakes for us all the share. Just to set the record straight...it only takes one blonde to make a batch of cup cakes. Anyway, Scott's wife - Janice, his sister Sandy and her son Luke were there to help celebrate and embarrass Scott. Sandy managed to get all the women in the bar to sign a very funny card, which he had to read over the microphone and of course I tried my best to embarrass him by singing Hot Blooded directly to him. Now he wants his birthday to be everyday ha ha.
Big hello to George and Brian who have been supporting me for many years throughout my musical endeavors here in Rhode Island and to my buddy Rich who's always, always there at Rusty's when we play. So when George and I are start talking about the "way back when days" George comes up with a title for a song "Never Learn" He was making up words and singing...had to be there but it was funny.. hmmm - maybe there is a song in there somewhere. Special thanks to everyone - and you know who you are - that continually support Beyond Blonde down at Rusty's!!! We really appreciate it and while it was hot as hell you all seemed to have a great time; getting into the show, dancing, singing and, of course, drinking!! We'll be back at Rusty's soon so we'll see ya then!!! Lisa

Well, well, well... WAAF and Beyond Blonde rockin' out at the Broken Spoke with Mike Lane to boot!!! What a day. Like last year, the bridge was closed to cars but we managed to sweet talk our way out of the detour route and got to the Spoke about 9:45 a.m. Rain the night before had cause the grounds to become quite muddy. It was like walking in cold shit and getting it all between your toes. Not pleasant. Needless to say, we slipped and slidded our way with equipment through the mud to the stage. WINK, our sound guy for the day showed up around 11:30 - sleeping the night before off were ya????. Wink ran sound for us last year and remember us, which was cool. The hum and purr of those beautiful bikes is quite an experience but due to all the mud, bikers were coming in, in dribs and drabs throughout the morning. We're scheduled and ready to rock at high NOON but the mud is keeping people out from under the tent. Cute guys are laying down mulch and dirt to try and fix the mud problem but still the folks stayed around the outskirts of the tent. We rocked as usual and had a few beers brought to the stage. They start their drinkin' early. Well it was noon. Mike Lane was a huge success. His "workshop" was set up right next to the stage and what a set up. I'm sure you'll see the show on TV soon as camera crew were everywhere. Getting off the stage with gear was another fun experience. Had to haul it all out behind Lane's trailor only to discover that Miss Kitty II, that's the band van, had been closed in by a ton of bikes. It was a chore but we managed to get out and get into the wrong line of traffic only to turn around and drive WAY OUT OF THE WAY on the detour route just to get to 93. Shenanigan's, where we're playing on June 25th, had some bike reps there to check us out...guess we'll have a pretty good crowd in VT. That's it from me. Maybe Donna and Suekey have a few stories to tell. Signing out...Lisa
Harry's @ Westgate Lanes, Brockton, MA 6-3 & 4-05
So we found ourselves back at Harry's Westgate Lanes for 2 nights of fulfilled shows. We were having big fun even before we played a note. Like while we were setting up, Dave McCarron, our bass player for the weekend, was entertaining us with his tuna fishing underwear story, which he swears is true, but I'll save that for another time. The first set started out with a pair of lively sisters tearing up the dancefloor with Dave. They were dancing like strippers and Dave was really rocking with them. Oh, did I mention they were in their 80s? I hope I can rock like that when I'm 80. The lively sisters helped get everyone else going and we went on to have a great rocking night. The second night started out a little slow, but that didn't last to long. Before long people were flowing in and dancing and rocking. Then all of a sudden, there was a big birthday party happening right in front of us, and those people wanted to rock. So naturally we obliged, and rocked the roof off the place. I hope they don't send us a bill. Then the waitress kept coming up to the stage. At first I thought she was making requests, but then I realized she was bringing beer, and I thought, I LOVE THIS PLACE! That thought quickly passed when I asked her where mine was. She said they were only for Lisa. It seem our lovely Miss Lisa had a male fan in the audience that thought she was really, really thirsty. When I informed him, thru the microphone, that the rest of us were thirsty also, he still kept sending drinks just to Lisa. Now what do you suppose his motive was? Hope to see ya'll at the gig..................Suekey
Bridge Street Station, Fairhaven, MA 5-6-05
Hello BB fans!! Donna here! Yes, It's me. Altho I still have to have tests done and am currently still out of work, My esteemed Doctor's,, Larry, Moe and Curley gave me permmission to drum and see how I feel! Yippee! That brings us to our gig at Bridge Street Station in Fairhaven last Friday night! Well, it felt great! I was all miked up, thanks to Jeff, and Eric did a great mix! I love when I'm miked up! Can hear my kick in Boston! I was abit nervous--my muscles we're fine--my endurance needs tweeking abit. First gig for the bass player Steve, who Rocked! Fell into the groove on every song and seemed to love it! We're working on him smiling up there and groovin with Lisa, lucky dog! I want to thank my brother Dave for coming out and helping with the loading and unloading of equipment, since I can't yet. He also loves the show and enjoys watching Suekey wail on that guitar. Doesn't everyone?? I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Lisa and Suekey for purchasing a new cushy drum seat for my comfort back there when I'm bouncing around like "Animal". Their support and concern for me has been constant and I am very fortunate to have them in my life! Till next time! xoxo,Donna

Till next time! xoxo,Donna
Love playing this club and not just cause it's a short drive for me.
Well, ok, ,maybe the short drive does matter. Just a little. But it's mostly the great folks that hang at A. A. that I love the best. Plus, Suekey and I were excited because Donna was playin' a set. Jerry Bates and Matt Scurfield are both great drummers but after 2 years of playing together with Donna as a "unit" you get used to things sounding a certain way. In any event, our energy level was high and Donna paced the dance floor through the whole entire first set until it was her turn to bang out some tunes. She hadn't been behind the drums for quite some time since getting out of the hospital and was SOOOOO itchin' to play. Not to take away from Jerry, who was rockin' out with us for the night, but Donna was an animal.
"Sweat like a pig", she said. Nice Donna.
A very special thanks to Jerry Bates for doing an awesome job. I think his heart fell to the floor though when Donna broke his snare drum during her first song of the set. Ooopsie! Good thing she had a spare in the car. Jerry says we should get Donna one of the muppet puppets - gee which one do ya think he was referring to - for her drum set. All in all it was a rockin' night. Dave McCarron has been playin' the bass as well as working with Suekey on some killer vocal harmonies. Kuddo's to you on that one Dave!
Until next time...Lisa signing off for now.
Harry's @ Westgate Lanes, Brockton, MA 4-8-05
This was an interesting stage set up to say the least. Hard to describe but I felt like the band was in some sort of triangle format whereby I was in the very front, Dave McCarron behind me, Suekey behind him and Matt Scurfield on drums was waaaaayyyy in the back. For the first time in a long time I could hear my guitar amp and that's ALL I could hear LOL. Other than the weird stage set up, Harry's was a great place to play. Jason, the manager, is excellent to work with (for any bands reading this that want to get a gig there). Great food, great people and an all around good time. We'll be back in June so hope you can come out! Dave and Matt did a great job and we thank them both again for their musicianship! Coming up in May on drums will be Gerry Bates and Stephen Lyon will also be joining us on bass. Stephen is being considered for the full time permanant bass player position so be sure to come and check him out. He'll be joining us on some gigs in May and June.
Raynham Dog Track, Raynham, MA 3-26-05
The start of 2005 for Beyond Blonde has been a challenging one. I'm a believer that things happen for a reason and that whatever the positive outcome is to be from all that we've endured over the past three months, will be a good one. Could be positive for the band or in our own personal lives. Who knows. Seeing into the future would be great right about now, but not knowing is intriguing. One positive outcome so far is Donna being home and recovering from a trying time in the hospital. Donna and her family were strong through it all and we're glad you're on the road to recovery Donna! We missed you at the Dog Track. Matt's an excellent drummer, as you know, but he's not you. :~)
Dave McCarron (bass) and Matt Scurfield (drums) were awesome! I have to admit that I was a bit nervous. How are the originals going to sound??????? EEEeeekkk. That was my biggest concern. While they did have a different feel to them they worked well and overall we had an excellent, excellent night. We had good laughs over the few blunders here and there but the audience loved it and kudos to Dave and Matt for being such awesome professional musicians!!!!! You guys rock.

The Century Lounge, Providence, RI 2-26-05
While it was a great night at The Century, it was also a sad night as it was our last gig as the ORIGINAL BEYOND BLONDE foursome. Joyce will be greatly missed. She's a unique player and individual in many ways. Bob Sloan of Studio Live Recording was there to recording our last show .... so how's the CD comin' Bob?
Rachel, no more crying. OK? The band hasn't died. We're just going through a slight metamophosis.
All American Bar & Grille, N. Kingstown, RI 2-5-05
Hello BB fans! Donna here again to say if you didn't make it to the All American last Saturday night, you missed an ass-kickin' show!! So much so I had to replace my snare head! It had a smattering of blood on it anyway! For those who were there, we Thank-you! Many thanks to Dave, Chef Paul, Richard, Sue Gomes and hubby Ray, and the regulars that come every time we play, for watchin'+/ Dancin'!! A special thanks to Fletch for his awesome harmonica licks during our 2nd set! He made our bluesy tunes just POP! His lovely family and friends were there to watch him in action--let's do it again Fletch!!! Until next time! Donna.
Rusty's (formerly OverFlo's), Middletown 1-28-05
Driving 8 minutes down the road rather than 2 - 4 hours to do a gig was just one of the perks of playing in our hometown. Your hoots, hollers and all around applause made us feel right at home. When Rusty's was owned by previous owner, Komas and called OverFlo's, it was a frequent gig spot for me. Before Donna, Joyce, and Suekey came along, Komas gave me my first gig there with my first band, for which I will be forever grateful. During the growth of the Beyond Blonde, we did quite a few gigs at OverFloâ??s and got to know all of you pretty well. Now, almost 3 years later, Beyond Blonde is back and rockinâ?? out with new owners, Kevin and Sue, who renamed it RUSTYâ??S and they loved Beyond Blonde. We'll be back! We thank you, our fans, for making it such a great night for us. The night was not without it's flaws however. Suekey recently bought a brand new Mesa Boogie amp unit and was way pumped to use it. His effects pedal had been working the day before but had been sitting in his car for 5 hours before the gig. Needless to say, it wasn't working on this particular night. Though he tried frantically to figure out the problem - unplugging this, re-plugging that - turning it off then on again - it wouldnâ??t work. Conclusion: Frozen solid. It refused to work all night until the middle of the last set. I think there was a puddle under the effects unit later that night or something....but Suekey was a trooper and rocked out anyway! I hacked and coughed all night with bronchitis and you all helped me out at the end of the night with the high notes!!! Thanks. You're all rock stars! Lisa
Kenny's Castaways, New York City 1-21-05
Hello BB fans! Donna here. I've never written before, but think it's time I did! We had an uneventful trip to NYC on Friday eve.-Pre Blizzard Rockers! Pulled up to the Marriott around 9p to check in. Just the bathroom could have housed a family of four! Joyce took dibs on the clothes rack/warmer--immediately hung her jammies on it and jacked up the heat--all toasty for later. I got a kick out of the shoe buffer fluffy thingy--forget the shoes, I enjoyed the tickle on my bare feet!Anyway, got to Kenny's at 11p. Our show started at midnight to 2:30a. We rocked their world, there just wasn't as many people in their world as usual. Due to -6 degree weather, people decided to stay home all warm and cozy-go figure! The crowd that was there loved us and we always receive a very warm welcome from doorman Don, all the bartenders and Bo the soundman. We played two sets of our rockin repetoire. Suekey, as usual was wailin on his guitar, but folks, he now has a Mesa Boogie amp! His dream! He's still in the tweakin phase finding richer, hotter sounds to wow us with! He's happy as a clam buried in the warm sand in Bermuda! sickenin really. I'm very happy for him, but I'm gonna miss telling him, "Suekey, the only way you'll ever have a Mesa Boogie is when you blow your nose!! I'm SURE something else will come up that I can tease him about. Even tho Joyce and Lisa have colds, they gave a rockin show! We made it back home before Mother Nature threw up all over our lovely towns safe and sound! Till next time, Donna
169 Bar, New York City 1-7-05
Lisa's Take on Things: Our New York trip turned out to be pretty cool! The drive there was a bit unnerving as the MSN directions sucked and the 169 Bar was the size of a pea and the place was dead when we got there. Oh yeah...there was no stage. No lighting. No sound system to speak of and NO SOUND GUY! But we hadn't played for a few weeks and were itchin' to rock! The room started to fill up as the night went on. Good thing too. Suekey won't play if there's less than 12 people in the bar!!! The crowd absolutely absorbed us! We had no idea what we sounded like to them (Remember? NO SOUND GUY ) but their reaction was loud and clear -- We were rockin', sounded great and they were lovin' it! Despite the obstacles, New York was fun and we'll be back in the city on the 21st. Special thanks to Greg and Karen for the NY support and Greg's cool Mick Jagger impression!!! Suekey adds... along with no sound guy and no anything else, there was heat. All heat was provided by Beyond Blonde! ( Get it? Cause we were so hot.) We should send them a bill for that!
